This module will help you to communicate and influence colleagues for whom you don’t have line management responsibility for. It looks at different communication styles and considers how to influence different people in a way that uses personal power rather than positional power. We will explore the reasons for conflict in relationships and develop the most productive mindset and skills for handling situations in a mutually beneficial way.
It takes great courage to be vulnerable, particularly when you’re leader. We’re supposed to be a pillar of strength and not show any weaknesses, right? Well in today’s business world, there’s never been a better time to be our genuine and authentic selves. This means putting aside pretences, being your real self and being a role model for others to do the same.
As the title suggests, in this workshop you’ll be working with horses. Horses are able to read human emotion and they have an ability to foster change. They respond to what they’re experiencing at any given moment and aren’t swayed by our “perceived” status or standing.
Feedback from the horses is totally authentic and timely. Even the slightest shift in our approach can make a huge difference to the horse and take us from being ineffective to effective and this is no different when we work with people we’re leading. The lessons learned when working with horses can then be transferred to the workplace.
Even those who are afraid of horses find themselves having a unique bond with the animals they work with.
